Leadership High School
The
Leadership High School is a co-educational boarding school and day school
for grades 9th through 12th that is currently under consideration. The
school seeks to develop ethical and responsible future leaders; teach
the principles of democracy and public service; nurture and develop
empathy and sensitivity to the needs of the underprivileged, the underserved,
and the environment; offer an academically rigorous, college preparatory
and finishing school program; and teach the skills of entrepreneurship
and benefits of a free market economy.
The
school will serve, mostly but not exclusively, an economically and socially
diverse group of students of Nigerian, African, and African-American
ancestry. This population will attract mostly students who attended
primary and middle school in the United States.
The
school is designed to meet the needs of children of Nigerian and African
immigrants currently residing in the United States, whose dream (and
those of their parents) is to contribute to Nigeria and Africa's social
and economic development. Furthermore, the school is also designed to meet the
needs of African-American youth and their parents who are seeking a
unique and diverse educational and leadership experience.
